Spiral Power is the ability to manifest matter and energy through willpower. Normally, Simon uses the Core Drill to use it to power Gurren Lagann, but by this point, he's basically a living god, so he can use his Spiral Power directly. This is foreshadowed earlier in the movie when Simon was making a small glowing drill in the prison.. When I first watched Gurren Lagann, I completely passed over Simon's line during the final battle as hype. I also missed it on my second watch. When I rewatched it for the third time, the line finally stuck out to me. It contradicts everything said up until that point. It was always "drill through the heavens," not "create the heavens." Why would the show's creators put in that specific line.
