Ok here's the deal,I have a 1969 pontiac firebird with a 350 in it this car has a points distributor.From the ignition I have two wires one of the wires runs to the starter the other I have hooked to the positive side of the coil and it is a constant power when the ignition is switched on.There is also a ballist resistor I installed on this line to the coil.And last I have one wire from the.. Come join the discussion about.. Hey guys, new to the forum. I just picked up a 69 Firebird with a 69 350 engine. I am replacing the starter because it was going bad, and I currently have the new one bolted on. The problem I ran into was wiring it back up. I reinstalled the small ignition wire to the "s" on the solenoid, and the red wire on the larger terminal on the solenoid.
