This repair manual contains the general description, diagnosis, repair and overhaul procedures necessary to service the Ford A4LD overdrive transmission. The A4LD is a rear wheel drive, four speed automatic transmission, used in both import and domestic vehicles.. Although this particular article was not written for or about the A4LD, the trannie referenced is a kissing cousin of a transmission (in a way) and was written by a FORD engineer. There are some wonderful nuggets in this article in general and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone thinking of a "bulletproof" A4LD.
