Does anyone know where the drain plug is for the rear hydraulic fluid is on a ford 3000 Shepp. As Ultradog said, there's a few places to put fluid in that model tractor. Where are you checking to see that it's low on hydraulic fluid? The tractor's main hydraulics sump for the 3 point lift is also the rear axle/differential housing.
The current recommendation for fluid for the transmission and rear axle for your tractor is a good Universal Tractor/Trans/Hydraulic Fluid (UTF) that meets or exceeds the Ford/New Holland M2C134D specification. Any fluid that meets that spec should say so on the label. I use the Traveller Premium UTF that they sell at Tractor Supply.. I have Recently acquired and old Ford 3000 Diesel and need to know what type of Lubricants / Fluids to use in it. Engine Oil, Hydraulic Fluid for the lift, Brake Fluid, Anti-Freeze and Rear End dope.
