My wife got Baldur's Gate 3 on her Acer Nitro AN515-45, and on the high performance mode on Nitrosense, she was getting temps of 89-92C, which is dangerously hot. We achieved better temps in the battery saver mode, upwards of 15-20C lower, but at a hefty cost of performance. Her base clock speed of her processor is 3.20GHz, and it was.. Performance Mode: For demanding tasks, switch to "High Performance" mode, but be aware that this will increase power consumption and heat generation.. Software Solutions: Taking Control of Performance. Acer NitroSense: Utilize Acer's own NitroSense software to monitor system temperatures, adjust fan speeds, and control power settings.
I usually use it for default mode but while gaming(min 2 hours at a time) I switch it to performance mode in nitrosense. Is it ok to let it run in performance mode or will it damage the internal components for heavy usage? Also if I upgrade my RAM and SSD will it cancel my warranty? Thank you.. Performance mode says it overclocks the GPU and CPU, but I don't know what that actually means. Last I heard (in the early 2000s, lol), overclocking was when you physically messed with a processor to get it to push past its rated limits and just hoped that the components didn't literally melt.
